Victorian Scottish Mahogany Longcase Clock Alex Low SAI3357
Fabulous Scottish mahogany Grandfather clock from the fantastic Victorian era signed Alex Low from Arbroath. The eight day movement is housed in a stunning hood with swan neck pediment and three brass spire finials. The 12" brass face has a silver chapter ring with black roman numerals and two additional dials in the centre for seconds and date with gilded figures representing four season corner spandrels The Lunar moon phases to the arch has silvered lunar month date with a hand painted moon and stars. The case with its amazing mahogany veneers and bowfront door houses 2 weights and pendulum. Like all antiques there are the odd age-related marks but that does not diminish the outstanding quality of this statement item.
