Victorian Lumb Stock Engraving SAI3380
Fantastic Victorian Lumb Stocks engraving of "Many happy returns of the day" painted by W.P Firth R.A printed by McQueen. The painting shows Frith's fourth daughter Alice’s birthday party and was exhibited in 1856. The scene perfectly illustrates a comfortable middle class family celebrating a child's birthday in a vintage rosewood frame. Like all antiques there are some imperfections however nothing of note and the frame is solid. This is wonderful engraving that will attract a lot attention and will grace any wall, room and home.
Lumb Stocks was a British engraver. In a long career he produced engravings from paintings by notable artists of the day.
