Victorian Rosewood Tapestry Fire Screen SAI3297
Victorian Rosewood Tapestry Fire Screen SAI3297
Superb rosewood tapestry fire screen from the fabulous Victorian era. The tapestry is of a nobleman with a guards/ soldiers, a woman and children in the background it could be depicting a scene at the royal court as the man could be Charles I. On either side of the tapestry there is stunning bobbin turned uprights with finial tops. The top rail is beautifully pierced with a very decorative carved moulding in the centre there is however a small piece of this missing (shown in pictures). Standing on beautifully shaped legs with stunning claw feet. Like all antiques there is some imperfections however this does nothing to diminish the look of this superb item.
